When a fateful planet is foretold to bring either chaos or enlightenment to a collapsing human civilization, a daring crew with clashing interests sets out on an uncertain journey to sway its influence.

Synopsis by : Anna Abrashina

Based off ideas by : Ruben Contreras

  • The story takes place in a twin solar system, where an outer planet shrouded in myth orbits in an infinity loop around two suns and planet groups.

A human civilization has named the infinity planet "Nemesis".

Whenever Nemesis joins their orbit, humanity experiences either a chaotic or enriching decade.

The last three orbital periods, however, have all been chaotic, deteriorating the human civilization into lawless lands run by power-hungry gangs.

  • As planet Nemesis comes into orbit again, humanity hopes for a long-awaited period of enlightenment for they know they might not survive another chaotic decade.

A daring crew decides to take matters into their own hands.

Characters

The pilot episode introduces the story with two pairs of strangers stuck together for a long journey to Nemesis after getting off to a rocky start. Will they be able to steer the spaceship to their common destination while having different goals?

  • A Word From The Director

Ruben Contreras - Producer - Director (Sybex Studio, Cinefastrack, Firehouse Studio)

“I have over 10 years of experience specializing in both narrative and non-narrative productions, made possible by founding a successful studio space (Firehouse Studio) in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Boasting a 6000 SF floor for a wide range of projects, the studio has been host to some of the most influential artists in our region. Being an ambassador for internationally known brands and leading manufacturers of equipment, I’m able to offer the latest in production, such as 8K cameras with anamorphic and vintage lenses on hand.

My experience has led me to take an active role in my community. I’ve recently started the process to join the “Yes, San Francisco” challenge to help end poverty and generate a sustainable environment in the business sector through means of education and development of a new AI-driven production training platform (www.Cinefastrack.com).

As I have gained experience as a producer of successful ventures with access to the latest in film technology and the backing of major production companies, I believe my team and I have accumulated all the necessary requirements to begin branching out.

Developing in-house projects has always been a dream of mine.

We are at the point where we could finally make the leap and reach our goals.

Our script calls for both physical and non-physical elements.

Creating a sci-fi world in a studio requires some involved set-building, such as a spaceship interior and a post-apocalyptic wasteland. We have a plan for using green screen in conjunction with physical foreground elements, but the cost is above our threshold.

We would love some assistance with the set build funding. Once we secure this, we can begin production.”

  • Closing Statement

I have been through a long journey of accomplishments and completed bucket list goals throughout my career as a director and producer.

From being one of the only sponsored cinematographers in the region by major brands such as Sigma USA, Anton Bauer and Astera to owning my own successful 6,000 sq. ft. studio space and a 5,000 sq. ft. office in San Francisco. I believe that everything in my journey has led me to filmmaking.

I have finally acquired all the tools necessary to create a stunning film. And I believe, now is that time to put everything I’ve learned towards Nemesis.
